I dislike Trump but the Impeachment Trial is Unconstitutional.

Trump after a trial in the Senate has been acquitted with 57 Senators voting to convict and 43 Senators voting to aquit. Honestly, it is not surprising after all you require two-thirds of the Senate to convict a President, and getting two-thirds of the Senate to agree on anything besides helping big corporations will never happen.

Even if you convict him it is obviously going to be challenged in court and Justice Roberts has refused to preside over the hearing because he believed it was unconstitutional.

I red what the Constitution and here's what says in Article II of the Constitution.

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

The Constitution says the President shall be removed from office. Well Trump has already been removed from office and therefore can’t be removed from office. So it will clearly be rejected in the Supreme Court and its Unconstitutional.

If I was in the House I would have voted for impeachment but if I got to vote in the Senate then I wouldn’t have even bothered to even attend the trial and just stay home because I knew this was unconstitutional and won’t pass anyway and I knew it wouldn't pass when Rand Paul got a vote on the floor of the Senate and only 55 Senators agreed it was constitutional. It is clearly a waste of time at that point.

What the Democrats should have done was invoked the 14th amendment which requires a simple majority. The Democrats will clearly get a majority of votes in the House and Senate enough for the bill to pass and if McConnell filibusters then Chuck Schumer could of has used the nuclear option to get the bill passed. That should have been the consequence and not wasting time on something that has no chance to pass.

I think the Democrats are having an identity crisis right now and are struggling to be for something besides Trumps bad since Trump is gone now they can’t really make him a bogeyman and are trying to make Trump a bogeyman as long as they could which right now he is no longer a viable bogeyman and are now making Majorie Taylor Greene and Qanon a bogey man which also won’t work because Qanon is a dying conspiracy theory and its supporters are dropping like flies.

The Democrats need to move on and they need to start by passing 2000 dollar stimulus checks which they campaigned on which they refused to pass and instead passed a 1400 dollar stimulus check instead which harmed them politically and running on a public option in the midterms. They don’t have the votes for a public option to pass in the Senate because they rely on Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema for a majority who are Republican in all but name so they need to gain two Senate seats for a public option and maintain their control of the House.

They won’t pass that because they don’t believe in it. They run on a public option during elections to please their base and when they come to power they do nothing because their big pharma and private health insurance donors don’t want them to. They don’t believe in a public option and that includes Obama.

Obama could have passed his public option with budget reconciliation or the nuclear option to get his public option passed but he doesn’t want a public option.

I know this is unrelated and going off-topic but the point I am trying to make is that the Dems don’t believe in anything besides Trump is bad and really don’t care about the people or their base and don’t believe in anything. This is why they're going through this impeachment despite being obvious that it won’t pass.

It is time for Congress and the people to move on from Trump and put him behind us and pass legislation to fight this pandemic and help the American people not pointless partisan games.
